- Semolina Semolina 160g 1 cup
- Sunflower Oil Sunflower Oil 2 tbsp 2 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp
- Chana Dal Chana Dal 2 tsp 2 tsp
- Yellow Onion Brown Onion 1 1
- Ginger Root Ginger Root 1 tsp 1 tsp
- Water Water 625ml 2 & 1/2 cup
- Frozen Peas Frozen Peas 75g 1/2 cup
- Curry Leaves Curry Leaves 5 5
- Chili Powder Chilli Powder 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp
- Table Salt Table Salt to taste to taste
Instructions
- 1.Firstly chop the onion and grate the ginger.
- 2.Heat oil in a pan, and add mustard seeds.
- 3.When it starts crackling, add ginger, curry leaves, chana dal and sauté for 1 minute.
- 4. Meanwhile heat 2.5 cups of water in a saucepan.
- 5.Add chopped onion to the pan and sauté until the onion becomes golden brown. Then, add green peas & red chilli powder.
- 6.When the onion becomes golden, add semolina and sauté until it turns light brown.
- 7.Then add hot water to the mixture and stir continuously on low heat.
- 8.Add salt to taste and cook until the water is absorbed and the semolina is cooked. Serve hot.
