Kanda Poha is a tasty traditional Indian dish, spiced with turmeric, chilies and curry leaves.

- Thick Poha Thick Poha 225g 1 & 1/2 cups
- Yellow Onion Brown Onion 1 1
- Ground Turmeric Ground Turmeric 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp
- Mustard Seeds Mustard Seeds 1 tsp 1 tsp
- Roasted Peanuts Roasted Peanuts 30g 1/4 cup
- Curry Leaves Curry Leaves 6 6
- Green Chilies Green Chillies 1 1
- Sesame Oil Sesame Oil 2 tbsp 2 tbsp
- Table Salt Table Salt to taste to taste
Instructions
- 1.Rinse the poha (parched rice) in a sieve and leave aside to drain.
- 2.Chop onions and green chillies.
- 3.In a frying pan, heat the oil and add mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds start crackle, add curry leaves, green chillies and onions. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.
- 4.Add turmeric powder, salt and roasted peanuts, cook for 1 minute.
- 5.Then add poha and stir. Cover the pan with lid and let poha steam on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
- 6.Turn off the gas stove and leave covered for 2 minutes. Then remove the lid and serve hot.
