Rich in flavor and packed with protein, this authentic, wholesome tofu stir fry dish combines tofu, Chinese chives, beansprouts and soy sauce. Its a breeze to prepare and will really hit the spot for your dinner guests!

- Tofu Tofu 400g 1 & 3/5 cups
- Beansprouts Beansprouts 70g 2/3 cup
- Chinese Chives Chinese Chives 50g 2/3 cup
- Garlic Garlic 1 clove 1 clove
- Light Soy Sauce Light Soy Sauce 2 tbsp 2 tbsp
- Dark Soy Sauce Dark Soy Sauce 1 tbsp 1 tbsp
- Mirin Mirin 1 tbsp 1 tbsp
- Olive Oil Olive Oil 2 tbsp 2 tbsp
- Table Salt Table Salt 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp
- Ground Black Pepper Ground Black Pepper pinch pinch
Instructions
- 1.Rinse the beansprouts and chives with water and shake through a sieve to remove excess water, set aside.
- 2.Mix garlic, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, mirin, salt and pepper in a small mixing bowl, set aside.
- 3.Heat the olive oil in a large, non-stick frying pan, add the 2cm cubed tofu and fry for 5-7 minutes, turning frequently, until it turns golden in colour.
- 4.Reduce the heat to medium, add the sauce mix and stir-fry gently for another 2-3 minutes.
- 5.Add in the beansprouts and chopped chives, toss gently for another minute.
- 6.Serve with rice or any grain of your choice.
- 7.Note: Chinese chives can be replaced with regular chives or a small leek.
